Tips for Surviving a Long Flight With Kids

Vacations are supposed to be relaxing, but getting there can sometimes be a hassle. If you’re traveling alone, you might enjoy the long flight. It could be a chance to catch up on sleep, read a book, watch a movie you haven’t seen yet, or simply get to know the person in the seat beside you. However, if you’re traveling with kids, the experience is a bit less laid back. No one wants to be the parents on the plane whose children are causing a commotion, and if you have a twelve-hour flight or a flight with layovers, this can be even more stressful. Fortunately, we have a few helpful tips to make the process more manageable.


Fly By Night (Literally)

Worried your kids will fuss throughout the whole flight? Or, better yet, worried that landing at a strange hour in a different timezone will cause jetlag that throws off your trip? You can avoid both of these problems by flying at night. If you book a flight that leaves around 8 pm or later, chances are the lights will be down for most of the flight, and the kids will be a little sleepy by that point.
